Spring is Coming!

Today, I feel alive with hope and anticipation. We had another snowstorm a couple of nights ago, but today the sun is brightly shining and the snow’s beginning to melt. Even though I know we probably have a few more weeks of winter, it’s starting to feel like spring.
While I appreciate the beauty of a snowfall, I have to admit I’m excited to spend some time outdoors with my family and be reminded of God’s creativity in a warmer context! What about you? Are you a warm weather person or do you love snow? How does God speak to you through His creation?
I love every season in it’s own way, although I do think that the winter lasts a bit too long out here. I see the washing of our sins in snow and winter, the newness of life in spring, the warmth of His love in summer, and the diversity of God to people in the colors of autumn. My perfect day starts out warm and sunny till the rain comes, starting slow and not stop till it’s pouring down. It doesn’t stop there, for then the thunder and lighning comes in the night.
I love the way that water falls down. It is not just when it is washing away, but there is beauty in a single drop. I love walking in the rain and getting completely soaked. Everything smells nice when it rains and there is a music that comes with rain that silences everything else. I feel God’s presence and I feel small. I love feeling smaal for then I seem unimportant and that means that whatever I am going through I will get through.
I can see God in every season during every type of weather, but rain draws me closest to Him.
I love all seasons, but temper the best in winter. I love being inside wrapped in a comforter, reading the Word, watching a television program, making homemade bread, spending time with my husband and pets. In the spring and summer and fall I enjoy seeing the many beautiful plants, flowers, and baby animals that God has placed in this world for our enjoyment and use. Any time of year there is inspiration and amazement in the beautiful sunsets and sunrises God creates and allows us to enjoy.
God truly is a wonderful God who is the creator of all and the father of all. I’m so thankful that I serve Him and that I am privileged to share his wonder and love with others.
